Embracing concepts and technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and smartmanufacturing can help. Today, pharmaceutical production plants must embrace more flexible production and faster process implementation to reduce time to market for new product developments.
Rockwell Automation plans to bring smartmanufacturing life by simplifying data access and contextualization from machine design through impactful enterprise use cases. PLCopen Motion Control efforts include mapping of OMAC PackML State Diagram to IEC 61131-3. Application examples with PLCopen Motion Control will be discussed.
Real-world examples will help fill skills gaps with smartmanufacturing. It was a pilot plant for a large pharmaceutical company, so you can imagine a lot of clean rooms and a lot of stainless steel, like depicted here. Automation can do quite a bit, but do not over-reach automation’s capabilities.
