Perdaman breaks ground on $6 billion Pilbara manufacturing project

Urea is a widely used form of fertiliser for food production. Located 20 kilometres northwest of Karratha, it is estimated the Perdaman Urea Project will create 2,500 jobs during construction and 200 operational jobs. Currently, Australia imports around 2.4 million tonnes of urea per year.
